I’m certified as an ESL (English As a Second Language) instructor through Bridge-TEFL in Denver, Colorado. From 2001-2007 I lived in Malaysia, where I taught English to Secondary and post-Secondary school students, developed a curriculum and a program syllabus, and led field trips and English camps. While in Malaysia, I also became fluent in the Malay language, and helped facilitate village home-stays for foreigners.
From 2008-2010 I served as an ESL tutor among Somalis living in Minneapolis. In 2012 I tutored international students from the Congo in the fundamentals of the English language, and also assisted them with writing and proofreading research papers. I’ve been tutoring with Wyzant since April 2013.
I enjoy writing, sports, traveling, and international food and culture. My wife and I currently live in Newport, Kentucky, just across the Ohio River from downtown Cincinnati. We are both originally from Canton, Ohio.
